1. The per-user monthly plan
Cloud phone systems are usually priced per user, per month. A "user" is a person with an extension: their desk phone, mobile softphone app and web phone all count as one user. The plan covers the core calling features: voicemail, call forwarding, transfers, conferencing, call history and the web portals.
With Cloud Connect, every user gets the full business phone feature set, plus unlimited long-distance calling.
2. Phone numbers
Every business needs at least one phone number, and many have several: a main line, direct numbers for key staff, a fax number, or local numbers in other markets. Toll-free numbers are usually a separate line item.
You can keep your existing numbers when you switch. Cloud Connect also offers local numbers in over 1,600 Canadian cities and towns.
3. Desk phones (optional)
You can buy desk phones, rent them, or skip them entirely and use the softphone app on cell phones and computers. Renting spreads the cost out and keeps hardware support simple. Cloud Connect offers phone rental options, and many teams mix desk phones with the mobile app.
4. Add-ons you choose
Most providers keep the base plan affordable and price advanced features separately. At Cloud Connect, add-ons include:
- Agentic Voice AI, the AI receptionist
- Contact centre queues and analytics
- Voicemail transcription
- Toll-free numbers
- Internet and portal fax
- Conference calling
- Professionally recorded greeting changes (recording your own is always free)
5. Your internet connection
VoIP runs over your internet connection, so it has to be stable. Most offices already have enough, but rural connections vary. Run our free VoIP network test before you budget for an upgrade you may not need.
What you stop paying for
The other side of the ledger is what disappears when you move to the cloud:
- No phone system hardware to buy, house, maintain or replace
- No software licences to manage
- Unlimited long distance instead of per-minute charges
- No added IT support costs for the phone system
- No new lines or extensions to install when you add staff
A cloud system also reduces the cost of a missed call. Features like Find Me / Follow Me, call forwarding when the office is offline and an AI receptionist mean fewer customers lost to voicemail.

Cloud Connect pricing at a glance
To put real numbers on it, here's what Cloud Connect costs (monthly, Canadian dollars, before applicable taxes):
- $45 per user, with every core feature and unlimited long distance. Teams of more than 5 users get significant volume discounts.
- $9.95 per phone number, local or toll-free
- $60 per company for Agentic Voice AI, the AI receptionist
- $2 per user for voicemail transcription
- Desk phone rental from $10 per phone
For example, a 5-person office with one main number and Agentic Voice AI would pay 5 × $45 + $9.95 + $60 = $294.95 per month, before any phone rentals or other add-ons.
Getting an accurate number
